Mike – it was and I really couldn’t believe we passed this place on this day! Yes, I was pleased with these shots (taken at an angle) others taken straight on weren’t as good and had vertical lines through them. It was a nice moment. Have a great weekend :-D

Lisa – Thanks, it was great to see! I only just wish I had my tripod as the zoom in the camera was working very well. Yes, I’ve seen photos of the eagle on other American blogs and from Jodi in Nova Scotia too. I would be very interested in how you battle with the starlings!!! My species of visiting birds have been greatly reduced now. I hate to think how many starling chicks will descend on my garden yet!!!

Nancy – it was :-) I still cannot believe we passed by on that particular day :-D

Easygardener – Ah… Loch Garten was the first nest we had ever seen. We were on holiday in that area a few years ago and took my parents there for a visit. Yes, looking in on our nesting female at the moment this really looks like a boring time for her on the nest – no wonder she sleeps. However, the Osprey and other birds of Prey, as you say, really are exposed to the elements especially the winds and other predators too.

I'm watching the RSPB Loch Garten osprey video cam - (off and on) which is why I probably miss all the interesting bits.
It does make you realise just how long a bird has to sit patiently on the eggs,and exposed to the elements in the case of ospreys.

Love the video of the Osprey. It looks like the wind was really blowing too. What fun to see the Osprey on the edge of the nest. We often see the Bald Eagles do this on the nest we watch.

Those darn Starling have takenover my new Purple Martin House. UGH. I will have to do battle with them.
