  1. Hi again Tricia πŸ™‚

Thank-you, there is and so often we take it for granted don’t we. I will be honest and say I was absolutely stunned by the scenery during our drive that day – it really took my breath away!

What a great selection of bird shots you got yesterday (before the camera played up) and you must have been waiting for the Sparrowhawk to start swooping around at any minute too.

Yes, perhaps this is not the time of year for a new camera – or is it ;-D

  2. Hi again Lisa, Pam and Gail πŸ™‚

Thank-you all, I’m glad so you liked to see these photos. Perhaps I could make regular postings for Wordless Wednesday to show you images from Scotland and other parts of the UK that I have visited. I was particularly thinking of my American visitors when I posted these pics.

I am guessing you are all very busy today and are expecting family very soon. I’d like to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving Day for tomorrow. All the best πŸ˜€

Pam – enjoy this 1st Thanksgiving in your new home!

  3. Hi there Raquel, Nancy and Frances πŸ™‚

Thank-you all, I’m delighted I can share them with you all. Once again, I am guessing you are all a tad busy as I write this!

Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving πŸ˜€

  4. Stunning Shirl.
I’ve not been back “home” for years and years now, one day maybe.

Thought I’d point you to something that might amuse you (unrelated I’m afraid).

  5. *Sigh* This makes me want to visit Scotland again so much I can’t resist the use of italics. Thanks for these pics, Shirl! It also reminds me to put “2009 Scotland Calendar” on my Christmas list (I normally buy them for myself, but am rather skint this year).

  6. Gorgeous, Shirl! Scotland is so beautiful. And I have very happy memories of my time there on Bute and in other places too. For some reason Edinburgh springs to mind. πŸ˜‰

  7. Absolutely stunning shots Shirl. We have some beautiful scenery in Dorset… but those views are a knockout.

Wondered whether you have ever downloaded Picasa? I use it for filing my pictures, and doing simple edits (sharpen, crop, fill-light etc) very easy to use and can upload to Google online albumns as well… anyway (I’m getting to the point now..promise) I was just fiddling with some of the things it can do. One is called “montage”. I’m not kidding it does brilliant montages in seconds. I thought of you and the ones you do with your pics in Photoshop. I’m sure this would save you a ton of time… I’m going to be using it for sure (lets you export/save it).

Anyway… just thought I’d share my discovery.

  8. Hi again, Karen, Doug, easygardener, Sarah, Yolanda and Jane & Hello Brenda πŸ™‚

Karen – They were – I loved them too πŸ˜€

Doug – Mm… now you have me curious. Perhaps you have told me before – I can’t remember now. Have you roots in Scotland and if so I am wondering where now. Thanks for the video link. It did make me and both my daughters laugh πŸ˜€

easygardener – Yes, I agree despite the large number of motorbikes that travelled this road it was a quiet and restful view πŸ˜€

Sarah – Lol, italics are goooood πŸ˜‰ I am delighted that you have enjoyed these pics so much. When I took them, in all honesty, I really didn’t think they would capture that moment. Looking at them now they do. Aw… I hope Santa brings you a Calendar πŸ˜€

Yolanda – Ah… you were a good test for these photos weren’t you πŸ˜‰ I too have happy memories of your visit to Scotland! Haste ye back πŸ˜€

Brenda – Yes, looking at them again I guess they do. Like the birds in my garden I guess I take some of our views for granted. However, in saying that these views were very special for me too! You are welcome, I am delighted I can share them πŸ˜€

Jane – Glad you enjoyed them. I agree you have some beautiful views in Dorset which you have shown many times on your blog. Mm… no I have never used Picasa but my OH has been talking about it again recently. It is late tonight but I will take your discovery on board and look at it over the weekend. However, I am prone to doing things by hand and having full control. I agree it does take me time and I am definitely okay with using technology on my blog. Thank-you very much for giving me the thumbs up with this one πŸ˜€

  9. I enjoyed looking at your most recent post about expanding interest in wildlife. I love your pictures! I have been learning more about the butterflies and caterpillars that seem to love my flower beds.

I have participated in Skywatch twice, now, and am having so much fun looking at the sky, and getting pics taken.

  10. Hi there Barbara, Sue & Mike πŸ™‚

Barbara Yes, it really was beautiful to me too. I am delighted that they remind you of your holiday. Haste ye back πŸ˜€

Sue Thank-you! Funnily enough I have been enjoying learning more about butterflies this year too. It is great to hear from another enthusiast. I can see you have some wonderful photos for Skywatch – I am not surprised at all that you enjoy taking part. I hope you continue to enjoy blogging πŸ˜€

Mike Thank-you! I was pleased the photos captured the mood of this area that cool October day. I have been looking for an excuse to post them. Wishing you a good trip when you come up this way – I know you will get stunning shots πŸ˜€
